Job Summary
Central Laundry is an integral part of Eastern Health providing linen products for patients, residents, and health care professionals. The Laundry Worker II is responsible for operating a variety of commercial laundry equipment in a centralized laundry facility. This may include assisting truck drivers with loading and unloading linens, removing soiled linen from carts, hanging the bags on a conveyor system, performing laborer duties throughout the building, and moving linen throughout the laundry. Additional duties involve the processing of clean linen using ironers, small piece folders, blanket folders, and manual folding as well as weighing, recording, and wrapping clean linen shipments, and other related duties as required.

Regularly lifts or moves bags of laundry/carts up to 20 lbs. and occasionally lifts or moves soiled or wet linens that may weigh up to 40 lbs.
Regularly requires body movements and neck postures such as bending and stretching, turning, pushing, and pulling of laundry carts, as well as constant standing and walking.
Regularly requires alertness and concentration while frequently completing repetitive tasks and constant auditory/visual concentration.
Job Qualifications
Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Knowledge in the treatment of materials and experience in the operation of laundry equipment would be an asset.
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
