While this position is located at Protective Community Residence, the successful incumbent may be reassigned to other areas of Long Term Care as required by the Employer.

Description: Protective Community Residences offer a non-institutional, secure and home-like environment in which residential care and support is provided to persons with mild to moderate dementia. The main function of the Personal Care Attendant is to assist in the provision of a supportive environment which promotes independence and improved quality of life for individuals with mild to moderate dementia. (This will include, but not limited to, providing assistance in the areas of housekeeping, food preparation, and laundry in addition to the personal care and leisure needs of the residents.)

Qualifications:
Graduation from an employer recognized personal care attendant program are required. The ability to demonstrate an acceptable level of knowledge in meal preparation for at least ten people through an exam to be administered by the employer, Emergency First Aid, and BCLS are also required.
