Job Description

What is the opportunity?

You will elicit, analyze and document business requirements, business rules and test the system implementation and delivery lifecycles for the Portfolio & Change Management (PCM) group and oversee and guide operations projects to successful completion. You will integrate new products / businesses into the Operational Services, COO group and lead reviews of processes and functional infrastructures resulting in re-design/improvement of the identified process(es) / function(s) through identification of innovative improvement opportunities, working effectively with the process owners and users.

Participation in business unit and functional unit driven initiatives as required.

What will you do?

Initiative Management:

  • Analyze and document business requirements, business rules and testing throughout the delivery lifecycles

  • Escalate roadblocks to PCM lending management as required.

  • Participate as required in business unit sponsored projects that impact Lending Services.

  • Coordinate, facilitate or participate in the development of operational procedures for new businesses and products.

  • Identify process improvement / reengineering opportunities through streamlining, simplification, elimination of redundancies/overlaps, improved capacity utilization, automation, outsourcing, standardization, etc.

  • Lead / conduct functional reviews primarily focused on productivity improvements as required by individual projects or as requested by Lending Services.

  • Lead/ conduct Ops readiness which include but are not limited to Business process mapping, Writing SOP documentation and training

  • Provide input to Business Architecture decisions and process.

Management of project resources:

  • Develop skills and competencies of staff by utilizing training programs pertaining to requirements gathering, use case preparation, UAT activities and the RBC Project Management Framework.

  • Represent PCM in joint CM / Commercial / IT committees

Relationship Management:

  • In conjunction with Lending Services management, liaise with businesses on CM initiatives and BU initiatives that impact COO group.

What will you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience in Finance, Engineering, Science or Math desirable

  • 7 – 10 years of relevant prior experience

  • Extensive Commercial or Corporate Loans and loans trading background

  • Extensive experience with one of the following systems: ACBS, LoanIQ ELTA and Trade 360

  • Proven experience of delivering the client data focused aspects of regulatory change, related to regulations including payments, OFSI etc.

  • Experience running programs to meet new regulations / legislation or running programs with regulatory intervention and / or internal data optimization

  • Strong Data Governance background and understanding - including Data Strategy, Data Methodologies, Data Best Practices

  • Ability to work effectively in a project team environment, demonstrated facilitation and leadership skills, strong listening and interview skills.

  • Good working knowledge of Capital Markets operational functions and processes.

  • Detailed understanding of the fundamentals of Capital Markets trading and the transaction lifecycle

  • Detailed understanding of RBC Capital Markets organizational structure (front office sales and trading, middle office, product control, COO, regulatory/compliance, etc.)

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and within a team

  • Ability to prioritize, plan and execute work to meet tight deadlines

  • Strong innovative, problem-solving and analytical skills; a self-starter capable of functioning in an autonomous manner.

  • Capable of building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders across the enterprise

  • Provide concise and effective updates to the Associate Director, Portfolio Change Management, as well as to the Project Manager where applicable

Nice-to-have

  • Strong knowledge of supporting systems used within Operations.
