The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development is seeking knowledgeable, collaborative, and results-oriented individuals to fill the role of Early Learning Consultant, supporting inclusion within Anglophone School District-North. The successful candidate will be client-focused, able to operate within the values of the New Brunswick Public Service, adapt quickly, provide high-quality client service, and collaborate effectively with team members.
The Role:
Reporting to the Director of Early Childhood Services and working within the district early childhood teams in the Anglophone School District-North, the successful candidate will be part of a team of Early Learning Consultants who provide pedagogical guidance, coaching and mentoring to early childhood educators and directors through individual on-site coaching, communities of practice, and professional learning opportunities aligned with the values, goals and principles of theNew Brunswick Early Learning and Child Care Curriculum and Quality Frameworks.
As the Early Learning Consultant, you will:
- Offer guidance and support to ensure the effective implementation of inclusive practices in facilities, while collaborating with administrators and Inclusion Support Workers to monitor child support plans and identify opportunities for coaching and mentoring educators.
- Oversee the Inclusion Support Program, including reviewing applications and managing renewal processes.
- Provide recommendations for inclusion support and guidance in the development and implementation of child support plans for children with additional needs.
- Promote an optimal level of support for children with additional needs through ongoing assessment and adjustment of support plans.
- Facilitate professional learning opportunities for educators to strengthen inclusion support strategies.
- Collect and collate relevant data, stats and information related to the Inclusion Support Program to assess impact and identify areas for improvement.
- Apply and provide effective coaching and mentoring strategies, including on-site support tailored to each facility's strengths, needs, challenges, and anchored in curriculum/quality frameworks to foster continuous improvement, self-awareness, skill refinement, and reflective practices among early childhood educators and administrators.
- Collaborate with provincial Early Childhood teams to contribute to the development and implementation of initiatives or pilots that enhance inclusion and diversity in early learning and childcare.
- Foster collaborative relationships with families, community partners and stakeholders to best meet the needs of children and their families.
Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:
Required Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (ex; Psychology, Education or Social Work).
- A minimum of four (4) years experience in the field of early childhood development.
- Extensive knowledge of and practice in the Early Learning and Child Care Curriculum Framework.
- Proven experience facilitating meetings and trainings for groups (virtually or face-to-face), coaching individuals, and delivering adult training using evidence-based, meaningful strategies (e.g., adult learning principles, facilitation techniques, or professional development planning).
- Be able to travel within the province following GNB's travel policies.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.
Nice to Have:
- Experience working in a licensed early learning and childcare facility as an early childhood educator.
- Experience coaching and mentoring adult learners in areas such as curriculum implementation, inclusion and diversity, and developmental or curriculum theory.
- Experience with various types of technology that facilitate communication and collaboration via distance.

Wage:
- Pay Band 4: $59, 046 - $82,576 annually.
Work environment:
- Management non-unionized position.
- Work location: Within Anglophone-North School District boundaries.
- Valid driving license is required. (Traveling is necessary throughout the district).
- Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15-4:30.
- Work schedule may include occasional weekend shifts, based on operational requirements.
- Your Team: A team of up to 20 employees.
