We are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Commercial Estimator - Plumbing & HVAC. This role can be basedon-site or hybrid (based on business needs)& physical location is flexible to any of the below metropolitans (or greater areas of):
- Saint John, New Brunswick
- Moncton, New Brunswick
- Halifax/Dartmouth, Nova Scotia
Responsibilities:
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or in-person with professionalism and technical expertise.
- Review commercial blueprints, drawings, and plans from customers to create accurate material and product lists.
- Prepare detailed commercial quotes, proposals, and bids using drawing take-offs and technical specifications.
- In collaboration with the Supply Chain team, source products and suppliers, gather pricing, and provide recommendations
- Support outside sales by providing timely, accurate estimates and technical expertise to help win projects.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure competitive pricing and availability.
- Analyze risks and review estimates with management to ensure accuracy and profitability.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure seamless communication, coordination, and execution
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
- Stay current on product lines, technical updates, and industry trends.
- Perform other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years experience in commercial estimating in a distribution/wholesale environment or working directly for a sub-contractor is required
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings provided to you by contractors is required.
- Knowledge of plumbing, mechanical and HVAC materials and systems used in Multi Family, and commercial construction is a must
- Well-versed in market dynamics and the contractor base throughout Atlantic Canada is considered a significant asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication, listening, negotiation, and phone skill
- Collaborative and able to develop/maintain relationships with ease inside & outside the organization
- The ability to effectively read technical documentations, then capture and communicate findings & specifications
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer software
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Energetic, self-motivated, possessing a good work ethic
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment; able to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
