Service Technician (On-Site)

We are currently seeking an On-Site Service Technician to join our Hardwood Lands, NS Maintenance Team. This role reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for performing hands-on maintenance and repair of mobile and site equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.

As an integral part of our Operations Team, you will:

• Perform routine maintenance and servicing of mobile and site equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot equipment including:
• Loaders
• Forklifts
• Graders
• Excavators
• Dump trucks
• Assist with troubleshooting and minor repairs of plant equipment as required.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Monitor and manage parts and materials required for maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• No formal certification required.
• Minimum 2-5 years of hands-on mechanical or equipment repair experience preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of heavy equipment and diesel engines.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues independently.
• Experience working in industrial, construction, or production environments is an asset.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping are an asset.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime when required to support equipment uptime.
