Internship Placement for Summer 2026 Term

Placement Description:
The Engagement and Outreach Coordinator will support the Regional Development Corporation (RDC) in showcasing the impact of its community programs and services across New Brunswick.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Crafting compelling messaging that highlights RDC programs and their social and community impact
- Adapting messaging for various communication formats, including video, slide decks, social media, in-person presentations, and written materials
- Engaging with staff and program beneficiaries to develop an in-depth understanding of program outcomes and community impact
- Assisting in drafting traditional news releases and speaking notes for Ministers
- Participating in outreach and engagement activities across the province
This placement offers hands-on experience in public sector communications, stakeholder engagement, and strategic storytelling. Due to the collaborative and dynamic nature of the department, the student will gain exposure to key decision-making processes and see firsthand how community programs are developed, communicated, and delivered. This role offers an opportunity for skills development with career-focused trainings, self-development workshops, and personalized mentorship.
Need to have:
- Language requirement: English and French (Bilingual)
- Enrolled in a post-secondary institution
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong networking skills and a customer service mindset
- Comfort engaging with community stakeholders and diverse audiences
- Flexibility and ability to manage tight deadlines and shifting priorities
- Ability and willingness to travel across the province
Nice to have:
- Background in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or related field
- Experience creating content across multiple platforms (video, social media, presentations)
- Experience drafting media materials or executive-level communications
- Strong storytelling ability and ability to connect messaging to audience needs
