Placement Description:
The Regional Development Corporation (RDC) is seeking an Engineering Student to join the Strategic Infrastructure Branch for the Summer 2026 term.
The successful candidate will plan, coordinate, carry out, and report on infrastructure project site visits across New Brunswick. Site visits will relate to projects funded under the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program, the Canada Housing Infrastructure Fund, and other RDC funding programs.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Planning and organizing infrastructure project site visits
- Conducting site inspections and documenting findings
- Preparing reports and summaries following site visits
- Communicating with funding recipients and project stakeholders
- Coordinating travel logistics independently
- Supporting additional branch initiatives as required
This placement offers hands-on exposure to infrastructure development and public funding programs across New Brunswick. Students will develop project coordination skills, professional judgment, and the ability to work independently in a public sector environment.
Need to have:
- Language requirement: English and French (Bilingual required)
- Enrolled in a post-secondary engineering program with a minimum of (1) year completed
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and organize travel and workload
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Interest in infrastructure development or public sector capital projects
- Experience conducting site visits or field work
- Comfort travelling extensively throughout New Brunswick
- Strong written reporting skills
