Internship Placement for Summer 2026 Term

Location: Remote (Travel required across New Brunswick)
Number of placements: 2
Salary: $18/hour
Hours per week: 36.25 (Full-time, flexibility required based on travel schedule)

Placement Description:
These placements will support the Careers Here: Community-Based Storytelling Project. Careers Here Facilitators will work collaboratively to increase public awareness of career opportunities in New Brunswick while capturing the experiences of youth transitioning into the workforce.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Co-developing activity resources and communications materials
- Leading community-based presentations, discussions, and engagement activities
- Developing interview guides and conducting interviews with youth and community members
- Filming video interviews, creating storyboards, and editing final video products (in English and French)
- Collaborating with departmental staff to reflect on lessons learned and adapt approaches throughout the project
This placement offers hands-on experience in community engagement, qualitative research, facilitation, public speaking, and digital storytelling. Students will gain insight into New Brunswick's labour market while developing practical skills in research, collaboration, networking, and communications. This role offers an opportunity for skills development with career-focused trainings, self-development workshops, and personalized mentorship.
Need to have:
- Language requirement: English and French (Bilingual) is required for one position; English or French is required for the other position.
- Driver's licence
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Arts & Humanities, Business, Finance & Management, Education, Community & Social Sciences, or a related field
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Comfort engaging with the public in community settings
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Nice to have:
- Media production experience (video filming/editing)
- Public speaking, facilitation, or interviewing experience
- Experience with qualitative research or community engagement initiatives
- Interest in labour market research, youth engagement, or public policy
