What you will be doing:

Leads and oversees marketing for Tangerine Digital Small Business within the Marketing team ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are successfully supported by integrated marketing plans that are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Be a critical thought partner to Small Business team (strategy, product, community) to develop our Take to Market value prop and our right to win in the small business category, including partner with Brand and PR to develop the product narrative, building connected go-to-market strategies, identify growth opportunities, and work with a cross-functional team to develop and bring integrated marketing campaigns and iterative growth efforts to market.
  • Develops the right value proposition, positioning, messaging, channel strategy and growth plans that drive adoption and sustained growth and resonate with existing and prospective clients at scale.
  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Builds and leads the overall marketing strategy, planning, budgets and performance management (including KPI development, performance monitoring and financial management) for the Tangerine Digital Small Business portfolio.
  • Lead the development and execution of immediate GTM, and an integrated marketing approach for Tangerine Digital Small Business, through deep collaboration with leads across Tangerine and Scotia Wealth Management , resulting in marketing strategies that drive Net Promoter Score and deliver on short-, medium- and long-term business goals, while ensuring an ongoing client-centric approach.
  • Work in close collaboration across Tangerine to ensure integration of marketing plans and connectivity of marketing strategies across corporate level and retail segment activities.
  • Collaborate with key bank leaders to foster strong relationships, identify synergies, and ensure alignment of marketing, branding and communication activities.
  • In collaboration with the Marketing Directors for Tangerine, ensure the development and ongoing review of marketing policies and procedures to realize structural cost efficiencies and ensure compliance with various regulatory bodies.
  • Run client research and competitive intelligence (Canada + global best practices), translate insights into roadmap direction.
  • Participate in the strategic review, selection and management of external vendors and partners including, but not limited to e-marketing, digital platforms, marketing consultants and agencies.
  • Act as a member of Tangerine Digital Small Business operating groups and collaborate with leadership teams to support business development and partnership activities to support growth across the portfolio of Digital Small Business, business.
  • Drive launches and always-on GTM: Own GTM strategy for launches and major iterations, including channel strategy, partner with Brand on creative direction, and comms plans.

  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Tangerine's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment. Uses a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vision/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Post-secondary degree in marketing, communication ideal
  • 5+ years in product marketing/GTM in tech-led organizations
  • 5-10 years FI Marketing experience (end to end: (segmentation, positioning, GTM, lifecycle), ideally across multi-product portfolios
  • Meaningful Experience with marketing to small business owners is a must
  • Strong understanding of Banking in Canada and marketing in regulated environments
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Proven success driving measurable outcomes (driving conversion, net deposits/AUM, upgrades, credit cards, lending, retention) through experimentation and insight-led strategy
  • Experience partnering deeply with Product + Research/Investment teams (or equivalent) to influence roadmap and define "right to win"
  • Demonstrates ability to use data, insights and analytics to achieve marketing and business objectives
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively plan and manage the work of diverse, multiple teams
  • Demonstrates ability to influence groups and/or more senior associates
  • Demonstrates ability to plan processes and work across broad, diverse groups to assure work is completed in a timely manner
  • Demonstrates effectiveness in leading/facilitating with senior business leaders on broad/controversial topics inside and outside the organization
  • Demonstrates sound judgment in resolving matters of high complexity
  • Leadership and strong matrix leadership required
  • Comfortable operating in regulated environment
  • High craft bar across narrative, messaging, and execution — you can set strategy and get into the work when needed
  • You're a great cross-functional leader, but also love doing the work. You can hold your own with the leadership team, but also enjoy executing as an individual contributor as we grow the team and function
