Manager of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Program, Permanent Full-Time

Definition of work:
Reporting to the Zone Director of Laboratory Medicine, this position will be responsible for program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation throughout Central Zone. The manager will ensure that policies, protocols and standards are in place to support evidence informed practice. The manager will provide program supervision and support to staff within the zone, as well as operational support to program staff at designated sites. Collaboration with other managers and directors within the organization will be essential. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements. Travel may be required.
Required qualifications:
? Graduation from high school with a diploma recognized by the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
? Successful completion of an approved Medical Laboratory Technology with a General MLT Certificate from the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS).
? Current and continued licensure with the NLCHP (Newfoundland and Labrador Council of Health Professionals)
? Three to five years relevant clinical experience in a multi-discipline Medical Laboratory Department. Progressive leadership experience in a clinical lab environment is considered an asset.
? Demonstrated strong leadership skills
? Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member in a changing and complex interdisciplinary environment.
? Demonstrated strong problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills.
? Excellent communication and facilitation skills and the ability to foster teamwork and collaboration. ? Demonstrated conflict management skills
? A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
? A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.
Preferred qualifications:
? Undergraduate degree in a related discipline.
? Project management certificate and/or degree
? Laboratory Quality Management/Improvement certificate
