Incentives & Remuneration
Successful applicants may be eligible to receive the following:
- Urban recruitment incentive of $50,000.00 with a return of service or Rural recruitment incentive of $100,000 with a return of service
- Moving expense reimbursement is also available.
Remuneration will be determined in accordance with the specific role and practice location. Additional details will be shared as the recruitment process progresses.
What you will do
The Internal Medicine Physician will join a well-established team of internists at one of our facilities. This full-time position offers an opportunity to provide high-quality, comprehensive medical care. We have particular interest in internists with General Internal Medicine (GIM), endocrinology, or cardiology backgrounds, though all specialties will be considered based on local needs.
- Provide an outpatient service for assessment and management of new and follow-up patients.
- Provide inpatient care on call.
- Participate in an equally shared on-call rotation.
- Admit internal medicine patients under own care when deemed necessary and appropriate.
- Provide consultations to inpatients and emergency room patients as requested by attending staff.
- Provide telephone consultation to colleagues.
- Equal opportunity among Internists to interpret tests including PFTs, ECGs, Holters, etc.
- Teaching responsibilities for residents and medical students as can be accommodated.
- Participate in departmental and other appropriate Medical Specialities Program committees.
- Participate in medical practice that is compatible with the Health Authority's mission, values and strategic directions.
- Other duties that may arise by circumstance and may be assigned by the Department of Internal Medicine.
Note: These responsibilities are the basic and prime duties associated with this position; other related and allied duties may be assigned from time to time as may be necessary to the operation of Horizon Health Network.
Who you are
- You have a MD (Medical Doctor) degree or a DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) from a recognized medical school and postgraduate studies (residency).
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification is required
- Candidates must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick.
- Proficiency in English is required. Bilingual skills would be considered an asset.
The physician must also meet continuing education requirements, adhere to departmental and health authority policies, comply with relevant legislation, and follow professional ethical standards set by regulatory bodies.
