Executive Director

SCI-NS

Spinal Cord Injury Nova Scotia, known formerly as The Canadian Paraplegic Association of Nova Scotia - was founded in 1952 by WWII veterans who had sustained spinal cord injuries. These trailblazers helped create the Department of Veterans' Affairs, opened the world's first spinal cord injury rehabilitation centre, and laid the groundwork for a nationwide support system. At Spinal Cord Injury Nova Scotia, we support Nova Scotians with spinal cord injuries to live full, independent lives. Using a person-first approach, we provide tailored support, connect people to resources, and empower families and caregivers. Our goal is a more inclusive Nova Scotia where everyone can participate and thrive. We're part of Spinal Cord Injury Canada, a national network made up of eight provincial organizations. Together, we work to improve the lives of people with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities across the country.

About the Opportunity
