The Department of Social Development is seeking an individual to join the income support team as a Human Resources Development Officer in the Edmundston and Grand Falls offices. An eligibility list for future positions will also be compiled for both regions.

As a member of the income support team, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing professional, administrative, and counselling work related to the programs and services of Social Development. Major duties can include: assessing the needs of applicants, assisting clients to develop and implement action plans, determining and providing financial supports, referring clients to appropriate services, assessing and verifying applicant eligibility for financial assistance, and documenting and updating client files. Other related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:Graduation from University at the bachelor level with a degree in a related discipline.

Written and spoken competence in English AND French is required for some vacancies while other vacancies require written and spoken competence in French. Please state your language capability.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate experience in one or more of the following asset qualifications:

  • Experience in Case Management;
  • Individual financial assessment;
  • Experience in Counselling; and/or
  • Knowledge of NB Case or NB Families.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be able to transport themselves for work purposes. Travel within the region and some travel within the Province is required to do home visits.

Salary: $72,124 to $88,452 per annum
