We have an exciting opportunity for an Electric Motor Rewind Technician to join our team in Saint John, NB.
The Electric Motor Rewind Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and testing large AC and DC rotating electrical equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and high-quality performance. The ideal candidate would have a strong mechanical and/or electrical background with hands-on experience working with AC and DC electric motors, demonstrate excellent attention to detail, and be motivated to continuously learn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair large AC & DC rotating electrical equipment, including motors with random or form-wound stators, rotors, and armatures
- Perform electrical and mechanical testing on repaired equipment to ensure quality, reliability, and peak performance
- Investigate equipment failures, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions
- Participation in structured on-the-job training programs
- Follow established safety policies and procedures at all times
- Work collaboratively with team members and other departments
- Other duties as required
Requirements:
- Mechanical or electrical background with hands-on knowledge of AC and DC electric motors
- Vibration Analysis Certification (CAT III or higher) would be preferred
- Infrared Thermography Certification (Level II or higher) would be a strong asset
- Proficiency in using electrical test equipment and instruments for preliminary, intermediate, and final testing
- Familiarity with other electro-mechanical rotating equipment—such as pumps—is considered a strong asset
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Driven & focused on learning new skills, with a willingness to take on new challenges
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Commitment to working safely & following safety procedures
