The opportunity:

We're looking for an outstanding front-end developer who can quickly understand relevant portions of our back-end systems to implement beautiful, functional and responsive websites and applications.

As a member of our growing External Facing team, you'll work with a group of analysts, designers and developers dedicated to creating engaging experiences for users of our digital products. Your focus will be building and maintaining single-page applications or websites, based on wireframes and visual comps from UX design colleagues

This is a 12 month term position, which will include benefits.

  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills, including requirements-gathering and liaising with non-technical team members on technical subjects.

Your everyday with us will consist of:

  • Create single-page applications that integrate data from various back-end services and databases.
  • Maintain existing websites and applications.
  • Get familiar with team standards, tools and frameworks.
  • Improve user experience by working in collaboration with a team of UX professionals.
  • Deliver high-quality applications through test-driven development and web automation, peer review and QA process.
  • Managing individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables within our project management practice.
  • Staying current into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities.

Required Qualifications:

Education: University degree or college diploma in Computer Science or similar program.

Work Experience: 2-5 years working experience doing UX/UI development for software, websites, or web applications which leverage emergent technologies.

Other Qualifications:

  • Strongly motivated individual that has an interest to learn.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of semantic HTML
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript and extensive experience with frameworks or libraries such as Vue.js or React.js.
  • Strong Knowledge of CSS, preprocessors like SASS/LESS, and frameworks such as Bootstrap or Tailwind.
  • Knowledge of RESTful integration patterns and methods.
  • Knowledge responsive design techniques.
  • Knowledge of GIT or other versioning tools.
  • Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 level AA accessibility guidelines is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Java and frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of test automation frameworks is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of cloud and container technologies such as Docker, AWS, Azure is considered an asset.

Language Skills: English, written and spoken. French would be considered an asset.

Security Clearance Requirement: In conjunction with our contract with the Federal Government, you will be required to have Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B). This includes Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check, Credit Check and you must have resided in Canada for at least 5 years and hold Permanent Resident or Citizenship Status.

Pay Range: $68,873 - $76,526
