What is the Opportunity?
In this role, you will serve as a strategic data-driven resource for the back office and management, leveraging analytical expertise to resolve complex issues, implement solutions, and develop methodologies to mitigate operational risks. Your work will directly influence the credibility of the department, both internally and externally, as inefficiencies or errors could impact the bank's reputation or result in material losses. You will champion data-centric initiatives, drive process improvements, and deliver actionable insights to support the Lending Services group. Success requires proactive problem-solving, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to data integrity.
What Will You Do?
- Drive Data-Centric Solutions: Analyze operational workflows, identify inefficiencies, and design solutions using advanced data analysis techniques. Translate findings into actionable recommendations for executive, financial, and operational stakeholders.
- Elevate Reporting Standards: Develop and enforce quality measures to ensure accurate, consistent, and SLA-compliant reporting. Automate report generation using tools like SQL and Tableau to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
- Data Storytelling & Visualization: Transform complex datasets into intuitive dashboards and narratives that drive decision-making. Collaborate with teams to ensure insights are accessible and impactful.
- Process Optimization: Lead initiatives to streamline workflows, mitigate operational risks, and enhance cost savings through data-backed strategies.
- Requirements & Documentation: Build and maintain a repository of reusable requirements documentation, ensuring alignment with business needs and technical capabilities.
- System Integration & Support: Act as the primary contact for investigating data discrepancies in ACBS and integrated systems. Provide analytical expertise to resolve system/business issues and communicate solutions effectively.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Change Management, RBC IT, and other teams to design and implement new business requirements, deliver training, and ensure seamless system access management.
- Access Governance: Manage system access requests to ensure compliance with security protocols, maintaining documentation for roles, processes, and tool guides.
What Do You Need to Succeed?
Must-Have's:
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field, with 2+ years of experience in data analysis or operational analytics.
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and querying.
- Expertise in Tableau (or equivalent tools) for creating dynamic, scalable visualizations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Exceptional communication skills, including tailoring technical information for non-technical audiences.
- Ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
Nice-to-Have's:
- Demonstrated skill in data storytelling, with a portfolio of visualizations that drive business outcomes.
- Experience with financial systems (e.g., ACBS).
- Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VBA).
- Project management certifications (CAPM/PMP).
- Familiarity with Python/R for data analysis or automation.
What's In It for You?
- Impactful Work: Shape decisions through data, directly contributing to the bank's operational excellence and client success.
- Collaborative Growth: Join a high-performing team that values innovation, mentorship, and continuous learning.
- Development Opportunities: Access coaching, training, and cross-functional projects to expand your expertise.
- Dynamic Environment: Engage with diverse stakeholders and tackle challenging, meaningful work that drives mutual success.
