What you will do

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is seeking an individual to join the Buildings Division as the Regional Construction Manager working in Moncton.

Reporting to the Director of Construction Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • overseeing and participating in Contract administration;
  • managing Quality Control and administration of fixed schedules and financial parameters;
  • supervising and developing professional staff centering on building construction and renovation projects undertaken by the Government within the Moncton Region;
  • acting with a high level of expertise in all aspects of building construction and contract administration; and
  • developing and maintaining strong, professional and positive working relationships with numerous parties to ensure the success of capital programs being delivered.

Work environment:

  • Office location: 381 Killam Drive in Moncton.
  • Standard hours of work: Monday – Friday.
  • We promote a scent-reduced environment.
  • Some travel within the Moncton region will be required.

Essential Qualifications:

  • University degree in Engineering.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of related work experience.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientist of New Brunswick or be eligible for membership.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Asset Qualifications:

Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate the following asset:

  • a working knowledge of the Construction Remedy Act;
  • a working knowledge in building technologies, encompassing structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, life and safety systems, civil, as well as modern construction techniques.

Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

SALARY:

Engineer 4: $3,305.77 to $4,311.51 bi-weekly, based on 36.25 hours per week.

Based on Operational Requirements, hours may be designated to:

  • 40 hours per week ($3,647.75 to $4,757.53 biweekly) or
  • 45 hours per week ($4,103.71 to $5,352.22 biweekly)

Recognition and Retention Premium:

The recognition and retention premium is based on written confirmation of recognition and registration with a Canadian Regulatory body.

  • Fifteen (15) years but less than twenty (20) years – 1.0%
  • Twenty (20) years but less than twenty-five (25) years – 2.0%
  • Twenty-five (25) years – 3.0%
