Service New Brunswick is seeking an individual to join the Technology Services Division as Quality Assurance Application Tester in Fredericton.

What will you be doing?

As a member of the Strategy, Solution and Planning Services team, you will be responsible for conducting application testing. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Lead test planning and execution for projects in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Copado Robotic Testing (CRT), Selenium, Cucumber, and Katalon Studio for web and API testing.
  • Perform manual testing, including functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
  • Ensure 100% test coverage by creating, executing, and maintaining comprehensive test cases for both manual and automated testing.
  • Assist with production issues by reproducing and validating reported defects and completing fix validation testing before release.
  • Conduct bug triaging, working closely with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to prioritize and resolve issues.
  • Utilize Azure DevOps for test case management, defect tracking, implementation of CI/CD pipelines and reporting.
  • Use Jira extensively for user story and bug management, sprint tracking, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Create, organize, and maintain test cases using Zephyr Scale within Jira, ensuring full requirement traceability and structured execution cycles.
  • Adhere to QA procedures, standards, and SNB methodologies to ensure software quality.
  • Attend team status meetings and working group meetings as required.
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance team, Project leads, and Business leads to meet project deadlines.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: A university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or in another related discipline and a minimum of three (3) years of related experience with guiding businesses in improving processes OR a two (2) year College Diploma in a related discipline with a minimum of seven (7) years related experience with exposure to analysis of organizations or business domain and documentation of their business, processes and supporting systems. Subject to the response to this competition, an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered, or the required years of experience may be increased.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate they have training or experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Experience with Copado Robotic Testing (CRT), Selenium, Cucumber, and Katalon Studio for test automation.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and best practices.
  • Experience with Jira for user story and bug management and sprint tracking.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps for test case management and defect tracking.
  • Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman.
  • Experience with Quality Assurance frameworks and project methodologies including Agile.
  • Experience with the Salesforce platform and related modules (such as Health Cloud, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Community Cloud)

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Some weekday evenings and weekend work hours may be required.
  • Candidates will be required to undergo Criminal History Clearance prior to appointment.

Salary: $46, 514- $74, 360 annually – Pay Band 3 - Management and Non-Union Pay Plan
