Our Calgary office is seeking a Material Testing Technician, the successful candidate will work in collaboration with the Materials Team, and will have the opportunity to work on various exciting projects alongside senior engineers/technicians in the field.

Your main responsibilities

  • Field testing of civil construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt
  • Learn about construction equipment, sequencing, and drawings
  • Compaction testing of soils, aggregates and asphalt
  • Concrete testing; casting cylinders and performing slump and air measurements
  • Asphalt testing; Marshall analysis, pavement coring, and onsite sampling
  • Preparing daily test summary report
  • Technicians will be provided with a company truck
  • Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety rules.

  • A Degree or a Diploma in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology is an asset;
  • Construction experience would be considered an asset;
  • Valid drivers license, current drivers abstract, and insurance claims experience letter will be required;
  • Technicians will be provided with a company truck;
  • Quick learner with a good attitude;
  • CSA approved laced steel-toed boots
  • Alcohol and drug testing may be required upon arrival
  • Must be able to work outside of normal working hours and any overtime assigned.
