Pay: $18.35 during training and $20.14 after successfully completing training.

Site Description:

Imperial Oil's Sarnia and Nanticoke refineries are large, high-capacity fuel and chemical production sites operating 24/7. Both facilities handle heavy industrial processes, hazardous materials, and constant transport activity. Security duties include access control, patrols of high-risk zones, monitoring alarms, supporting emergency response plans, and ensuring safe, compliant operations across complex refinery environments.

Key responsibilities:

  • Monitor and patrol the premises to ensure safety and security.
  • Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized access or unlawful activities.
  • Control access at entry points and ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises.
  • Respond to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies and take appropriate actions as needed.
  • Assist in the enforcement of company policies and procedures, including monitoring and reporting any suspicious activities.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or security breaches promptly to the management team.
  • Complete daily logs and security reports, documenting any unusual occurrences.
  • Provide assistance to employees, visitors, and vendors as needed.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and security equipment, ensuring they are functioning properly.
  • Cooperate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and other authorities when necessary.
  • Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained and ready for use.
  • Security personnel at this location are primary for emergency duties
  • Security personnel are to be conversant with emergency duties and procedures

Prerequisites:

  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
  • Valid G Driver's License
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
  • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
  • Authorized to legally work in Canada
