Position: Full-Time Mobile Patrol Security Guard
Site: Europro Limited
Overtime: Averaging Agreement - Overtime after 88 hours
Shift: Saturday & Sunday (0700 - 1900) or Saturday & Sunday (1900-0700)
Payrate: | $19.49/hr

Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to and report all incidents of criminal activity, suspicious activity, and hazardous situations.
- Respond to calls for service from internal/external clients and members of the public.
- Inspect and test Security/Life Safety devices.
- Provide training and support to facility, ad-hoc, and event coverage guards.
- Lock and unlock gates and doors; ensure properties are secured after hours.
- Complete patrols using electronic guard tour software.
- Conduct proactive patrols (interior and exterior); address policy breaches and note facility concerns.
- Unlock and lock doors and offices; provide access control.
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons.
- Attend and investigate security alarms and emergencies in a timely and professional manner.
- De-escalate crises and liaise with emergency personnel including police, fire, and paramedics.
- Write detailed incident reports for all emergency and day-to-day activities.
- Provide first aid and medical response as required.
- Log in/out of key, radio, and pager audits.
- Ensure buildings are secured after hours.
- Complete patrols using electronic guard tour software.
- Respond to all types of occurrences; contribute to team effort as needed.
- Deter and enforce prohibited acts (loitering, panhandling, smoking, skateboarding, cycling)
Requirements:
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Minimum two (2) years of building security experience an asset.
- Ability to effectively read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
- Physical and mental ability to fulfil the duties and requirements of the assigned work (indoor/outdoor, long periods standing, lifting up to 20 lbs, running short distances).
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act, Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and Ontario Fire Code.
- Responding to incidents and alarm response as the "first responder". Must be able to de-escalate, communicate with dispatch and report all occurrences accurately.
- Must be comfortable working as part of a team but also working alone.
- Completion of all standard required training courses (see Training Requirements).
- Valid Class G (or higher) Ontario Driver's License and 3 Year Clean Drivers Abstract)
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
