Overview
The Emera NL Scholarship, offered in partnership with STEMforGIRLS, offers one (1) non-renewable award to a woman* entering into their first year of the Electronics Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology (Power & Controls), or Powerline Technician programs.
Criteria
Applicants must be:
- A permanent residents of Newfoundland and Labrador, with preference given to candidates from the Western region.
- A woman* who has received formal acceptance and is entering the first year of Electronics Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology (Power & Controls), or Powerline Technician programs
Preference will also be given to students who have demonstrated the values of safety and health, teamwork, leadership, dignity, and respect, as well as those who have demonstrated financial need.
Application Requirements
Applicants are required to submit:
- Your resume
- A minimum of one (1) reference letter
- Proof of enrolment at your chosen post secondary institution
- A short essay*, max of 500 words
*Essay: This is your opportunity to introduce yourself and tell us why you deserve a scholarship. Your essay could include examples of how you demonstrated skills relating to teamwork, communication, leadership, dignity, and respect. It should demonstrate your interest in your selected program and convey what receipt of the scholarship would mean to you.
