What is the opportunity?

Reporting to the Manager, IBC Wires & IBC FX/FCA, the Assistant Manager IBC Foreign Exchange /Foreign Currency Accounts position is accountable for client care strategies, maximizing transaction processing efficiency/effectiveness and the integration/implementation of new initiatives and activities related to Foreign Exchange Transactions and Foreign Currency Accounts service utilized by Canadian Banking Business clients. Responsible for the continuous monitoring of work processes daily and attainment of established Key Performance Indicators. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy, efficiency and effectiveness of the Settlement of FX Deals and Foreign Currency Account transactions processes through a continuous improvement mindset.


Ensures a high level of customer service is evident daily through effective performance measurements and ongoing coaching routines within a team of processing professionals.
As a "working Team Leader", responsible for workflow distribution, meeting of critical cut-off times and hands on processing on all functions, as required and ongoing engagement with Capital Markets Traders.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for the training and rotation of "FCA Wire Offices & FX Officers", ensuring that individuals are trained against all processes flows and knowledge gaps are closed
  • Manages workflow to ensure equitable distribution of wires received for processing and that cut off times are met daily
  • Responsible for the accuracy of productivity, error and volume tracking and takes necessary steps to close any gaps/issues identified
  • Conducts random checks on workflow processes on a monthly basis and coaches/provides feedback against the results
  • Resolves wire related investigation inquiries and Foreign Exchange issues received by the department and tracks root cause for continuous improvement purposes
  • Primary escalation point to resolve high risk/high impact situations. Where applicable ensures that critical/emergency situations are escalated to management
  • Processes transactions for all wire functions on a daily basis as required, specifically focusing on Verification and Investigations
  • Strict adherence of Operations Risk Policies as outlined in Folio instructions and ensures processes and controls are in place to minimize risk.
  • Review and ensure any new or changed policies and procedures in the Policy and Procedure Library( PPL) on RBCnet which impact the IBCs are implemented and shared with the teams
  • Mitigates Operational/Transactional risk through proactive measures
  • Mandated to be the Unit AML Officer ( Folio B-13)
  • Mandated to be a SECAF BSA
  • On an ongoing basis, ensures fulfilment of Internal Audit and ICR requirements as needed
  • Pre-verification Officer
  • Ensure operational, financial and reputational risk is mitigated through the prioritization of workflow and being aware of various cut-off times and associated responsibilities
