Senior Manager, Maintenance & Production Support (Java)

Job Description

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Manager to lead maintenance and L2/L3 production support while acting as an Application Custodian for RBC Cash Management. This role partners closely with SRE, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Application Development teams, and external vendors to maintain platform stability and drive fast, accountable problem resolution.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Lead and perform hands-on production support (L2/L3) and application maintenance

• Act as the Application Custodian, owning application health, stability, and operational integrity

• Drive cross-team and vendor issue resolution, ownership, and delivery against timelines

• Use strong Java expertise to troubleshoot complex application and system issues

• Partner with SRE, DevOps, Cloud, and Development teams to improve operational resilience

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must Haves

• 5-7 years of experience with hands-on Java development and troubleshooting experience; Java engineering, platform operations, or production support leadership experience.

• Experience leading or performing L2/L3 production support in enterprise environments

• Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and DevOps practices (no release ownership required)

• Proven ability to drive accountability across internal teams and vendors

• Strong ability to drive accountability, timelines, and execution discipline

• University degree in Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent)

Nice to Have:

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is nice to have
