Position Overview
Our client is a well-established, mission-driven national not-for-profit organization entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation. They are seeking an experienced Director of Fund Development to lead and evolve their revenue strategy, strengthen donor relationships, and guide a small, high-performing team.
This is a senior leadership role for someone who is equal parts strategic, relational, and execution-focused - someone who can see the big picture, build a clear plan, and ensure the details follow through.
Our client provides a comprehensive compensation package based on experience, with the salary of this position being within the range of $85,000-$100,000 per year.
Who You Are
You're comfortable being the catalyst - whether that means starting something new, being the first to build momentum, or stepping in to scale what's already working. You're creative and ambitious, but grounded in strategy and accountability.
You have a strong track record of:
- Building and stewarding meaningful donor and partner relationships
- Leading teams toward ambitious but achievable revenue goals
- Translating strategy into action, systems, and measurable results
- You believe deeply in the power of community impact and are motivated by working alongside people who care deeply about the mission and each other. You value trust, empowerment, and progress over perfection.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Fund Development will be responsible for the development and execution of annual fund development and communications plans, including clearly defined revenue targets and performance metrics.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and growing major gifts and signature fundraising initiatives
- Overseeing donor stewardship, reporting, and relationship management
- Providing regular reporting and presentations to senior leadership and the Board
- Strengthening data-informed decision-making across fundraising efforts
- Collaborating cross-functionally to support organizational goals and sustainability
- This role involves managing a small team and working closely with internal and external stakeholders nationwide.
Location & Travel
This organization operates nationally, with a central office in Atlantic Canada. While remote work is possible, some travel is required, including periodic in-person meetings and events throughout the year.
Qualifications
(Required)
- Significant experience in fund development and/or business development
- Demonstrated success with data analysis and performance tracking
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
Assets
- Experience with donor databases and CRM systems
- Bilingualism (English/French)
Why This Role
