RealityScape VR is opening a new virtual reality entertainment location at New Sudbury Centre. We focus on immersive entertainment, strong operational standards, and exceptional customer experience.

Position Summary

The Operations Manager is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing daily on-site operations, supervising staff, coordinating schedules, and ensuring a high-quality guest experience. This role plays a key part in the launch and early growth of the Sudbury location and involves close communication with ownership.

This position suits someone who enjoys responsibility, problem-solving, and leading a customer-facing team in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operations & Guest Experience
    • Lead day-to-day on-site operations
    • Open and close the location and complete daily checklists
    • Ensure safety, cleanliness, and operational readiness
  • Staff Leadership & Scheduling
    • Prepare staff schedules and coordinate shift coverage
    • Supervise, train, and support team members on shift
    • Act as the first point of contact for staff and customer issues
  • Technical & Facility Oversight
    • Perform basic VR equipment checks and troubleshooting using provided procedures
    • Report technical or operational issues to ownership
  • Communication & Reporting
    • Communicate regularly with ownership regarding staffing, performance, and operations
    • Escalate unresolved operational or staffing issues when required
  • Scheduling & Coverage
    • The Operations Manager is responsible for taking reasonable steps to ensure scheduled operating hours are staffed. When coverage cannot be secured after reasonable efforts, issues must be escalated to ownership for guidance.

Qualifications

  • Leadership experience in retail, hospitality, entertainment, or customer-facing roles
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable supervising staff and handling customer situations
  • Willingness to learn VR and entertainment technology
  • Reliable availability, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and assist guests with VR equipment

Compensation & Employment Terms

  • Hourly wage of $23-$25, based on experience
  • Eligibility for quarterly performance-based bonuses
  • Overtime paid in accordance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act
  • Hourly, non-salaried position
  • Hours scheduled based on business needs
  • This role supports launch and early operations and does not represent a guaranteed or permanent management appointment
