The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an, Senior Engineer, Mine Planning to join our Long-term Mine Planning Team.
This is a permanent position.
As the Senior Engineer, Mine Planning, you'll to lead the development and implementation of comprehensive Underground Life of Mine (LOM) plans, ensuring the efficient and sustainable extraction of base metals. You will oversee the creation of detailed LOM plans, incorporating geological, geotechnical, and economic data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including geology, geotech, operations, metallurgy, and environmental departments, to optimize mine design and production schedules. Regular reviews and updates of LOM plans will be conducted to reflect changing conditions and new data. Utilizing advanced mining software and tools to model and simulate mining scenarios, you will provide expert technical support and lead the mentorship of junior engineers and other team members. Ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, you will prepare and present reports and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
Additionally, in this position you will:
- Serve as the site subject-matter expert for LOAP planning and design considerations.
- Lead Conceptual and Pre?Feasibility studies to support mining projects, focusing on mine optimization, sequencing, operational design, and equipment sizing across various scenarios and production scales.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to other Engineers.
- Develop mine designs that ensure long-term flexibility in project planning and execution.
- Evaluate, adapt, and recommend appropriate mining methods.
- Maintain regular communication with operational and technical leadership.
- Assess equipment options, their application across mining methods, and their technical?economic feasibility.
- Determine, allocate, and monitor the resources required to achieve established targets.
- Prepare technical and economic analyses to support the introduction of new practices and processes.
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend new technologies that enhance safety, standardization, and value creation in alignment with company priorities and industry advancements.
About You
Education:
- Degree in Mining Engineering and be either registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada
- Tertiary education in mine planning optimization and mineral economics would be beneficial.
Experience:
- 8–10 years of work experience in Mine Planning

Minimum Starting Salary: $112,800
