Who you are

You have successfully completed three years of an accredited Bachelor of Nursing program.

  • The Undergraduate Nursing Employee 3 has successfully completed three sequential years of four-year Baccalaureate Nursing Program from an approved university.
  • Compassionate, patient-focused, and a strong communicator
  • Trained in patient care (acute experience an asset)
  • Competent in written and spoken English
  • Willing to work full time rotation for duration of program, 12 weeks

Job Description

To assist in the provision of patient care, under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RNCA).

  • Support admission, assessment, and care?planning processes.
  • Provide personal care, hygiene, mobility assistance, and support with meals and feeding.
  • Assist with patient transfers, ambulation, positioning, toileting, and range?of?motion exercises.
  • Perform basic clinical tasks such as vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, specimen collection, intake/output monitoring, and simple wound and dressing care.
  • Support care involving catheters, ostomies, tube feedings, oxygen therapy, and IV site monitoring (with supervision as required).
  • Prepare patients for procedures and surgery; assist with post?operative care.
  • Maintain infection prevention and control practices and follow safety protocols, including restraint use when applicable.
  • Provide emotional support, therapeutic communication, and respond to patient needs.
  • Document care provided and communicated patient status to the care team.
