Job Summary
The Executive Director is accountable for providing leadership, support and promoting the strategic direction for St. Patrick?s Mercy Home. This position provides leadership in planning, implementation and evaluation of an integrated team-based organizational structure and resident-centered care delivery model. The Executive Director maintains and evaluates programs and services to provide quality care, has primary responsibility for day-to-day operations of the home, and provides leadership to managers and staff of all departments covering both clinical and support/infrastructure areas.
This position maintains strong collaborative working relationships with NL Health Services departments and programs and works collaboratively with other Long-Term Care sites within the zone. These administrative responsibilities are accomplished in accordance with the general direction and guidelines as determined by the Board of Directors of St. Patrick?s Mercy Home and the Sisters of Mercy. The position works in collaboration with the Director for Eastern Urban Zone, Long-term Care.
Job Qualifications
Education
Bachelor?s degree in a health-related discipline supplemented by a master?s degree in a health-related field, health or business administration and/or health leadership is required.
Experience
Minimum of five years of progressive management and extensive experience in a Resident/Long-term Care or other related health care environment is required. Applicants possessing an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Demonstrated high level oral, written and presentation communication skills for the purpose of facilitating decision making through clear and well-structured reports, presentations, briefs, submissions, and strategic documents.
Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment in contacts with senior leadership and stakeholders, and in reviewing sensitive information.
