The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician – Instrumentation & Controls Technician to join our Surface Fixed Plant Maintenance Team in Voisey's Bay, Labrador, a fly-in fly-out operation. Relocation to the Province of Newfoundland & Labrador will be required for this role.
The role is a permanent on-site position, working 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off rotational schedule.
As a Maintenance Technician – Instrumentation & Controls Technician you will be responsible for repairing, troubleshooting, adjusting, overhauling, servicing, maintaining, and calibrating equipment within the concentrator facility. Your experience and skills will assist with the installation and upgrading of new instrumentation and controls equipment to extend the life of the concentrator facility.
Additionally, in this position you will:
- Perform checks, implement calibrations, and carry out maintenance according to preventive maintenance plans on equipment including mills, crushers, pumps, conveyors, PLC's, DCS, multi-voltage electric motors, valves, weigh scales, level probes, pH probes, flow meters and tubes, nuclear and non-nuclear density meters, gas monitors, and other equipment.
- Complete breakdown, corrective and minor repairs as well as and inspect, examine and test parts to recommend the extent and nature of the work to be done.
- Test, adjust, and repair systems for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturer's specifications and the functional needs of the operation.
- Conduct final inspections to ensure that work detailed on work order has been completed to meet safety standards.
- Improve equipment availability and efficiency through quality maintenance and failure analysis.
- Collaborate with maintenance planners, control systems advisors, and electricians with troubleshooting and sourcing various pieces of new equipment.

About You
Education:
- College diploma in Instrumentation and Control Technician is required.
- An interprovincial Instrumentation and Control Technician Red Seal Certification is required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years Journeyperson experience as an Instrumentation and Controls Technician is required.
- Previous mining or heavy industrial experience is preferred.
Skills:
- Knowledge of the repair and maintenance of fixed plant equipment and the capabilities to enhance our rapidly growing facility.
- Ability to take initiative.
- Flexibility regarding work activities and type of work requirements.
- The ability to work in a multi-discipline, multi-tasking, team environment.
