Job Description: Working assigned shifts at a Government of Ontario building, the Security Guard will provide proactive and reactive patrols, respond to incidents and emergencies, and maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment. The role requires strong customer service skills, report writing, incident investigation, and the ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining peace, safety, and security for all tenants, visitors, and staff
• Conduct highly visible foot patrols, monitor CCTV systems, and enforce property standards, access control procedures, and the Trespass to Property Act
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, medical situations, and crisis events, including providing First Aid, CPR, or AED support until emergency personnel arrive
• De-escalate conflicts, assist emergency and law enforcement services, and support Fire & Life Safety inspections
• Investigate incidents and prepare detailed written reports, logs, and memo book entries using standard reporting systems
• Maintain strong awareness of property activities and special events, assisting visitors as needed
• Perform daily operational duties as assigned and carry out additional responsibilities as directed by management

Qualifications:

• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol by foot or vehicle for extended periods (8–12 hours), including bending, kneeling, and other physical activity
• Minimum 2 year of security experience (Commercial & Retail Experience)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with fluency in English
• High level of professionalism, attention to detail, observational awareness, and emotional intelligence
• Ability to work effectively under stress in fast-paced, busy, and highly populated environments, both indoors and outdoors
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Prerequisites:

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
• Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider
• Proof of Covid 19 - 2 Doses
• English (oral and written) fluency is a must
• 2 Years of experience in security is preferred
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
