Job Description
What is the opportunity?This position is responsible for the evaluation and selection of risk on Living Benefits inforce policies when exercising the contractual Future Income Option (FIO) to increase coverage. The Bilingual Associate Financial Underwriter is responsible for the concise evaluation of financial documentation that is required for the assessment of the risk.
What will you do?
Evaluate and make decisions regarding financial information provided when a client applies for an increase in individual disability insurance coverage. Financial assessments include review of (not limited to) CRA Tax Documents (T1, T2125, T2), Professional Billings and Foreign Tax Returns (primarily USA).
Evaluate and make recommendations to the Financial Consultant/Financial Risk Relationship Manager regarding financial information provided that is above the employees assigned approval limit
Ensure delivery of a superior client experience and achieving levels of client satisfaction that contributes positively to persistency and reputation in the marketplace
Ensure audit results are within acceptable ranges
What will you need to succeed?
Must have:
Bilingual in both English and French, written and spoken
Strong mathematical and analytical skills; Accounting strongly preferred
College/University Degree or minimum 2 years related experience with Customer Service/Underwriting responsibilities preferred
Strong teamwork - contribute to building a positive team environment
Look for ways to improve and promote quality, apply feedback to improve performance, and monitor own work to ensure quality
Nice to have:

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.
Pay Range
The expected pay range for this position is:
$46,000.00 - $70,000.00The pay range provided is for the primary work location referenced in the Additional Job Details section of this job posting. Pay ranges may differ based on location. If the posting lists multiple job locations, a recruiter can confirm availability of the role and the relevant pay rage for the additional locations listed.
