Job Description

What is the opportunity?

As the Director, Global Security Data Hub & Security Support, you will be accountable for the end-to-end operational reliability, security posture, and service excellence of RBC's Security Data Hub and Security Insights platforms. This role provides strategic leadership and operational governance over an offshore contract team delivering Level 1 and 2 support, while serving as the IT custodian for designated security platforms and applications. The director ensures platforms meet enterprise SLA commitments, regulatory and audit requirements, resilience standards, and evolving security analytics needs while driving operational maturity, cost efficiency, and continues improvement.

What will you do?

  • Provide end-to-end leadership and operational governance for the Global Security Data Hub and security analytics platforms, ensuring high availability, resilience, and compliance with enterprise SLAs.

  • Lead and oversee an offshore contractor team delivering Level 1/2 operational support, incident management, release coordination, and batch/platform monitoring.

  • Own incident response performance, including MTTR targets, escalation management, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement.

  • Act as IT Custodian for assigned security platforms, accountable for attestations, risk findings, audit evidence, vulnerability management, and platform currency.

  • Drive platform stability and performance through proactive monitoring, performance tuning insights, and coordination of OS patching and component upgrades.

  • Govern vendor relationships, financial management, and capacity planning while ensuring service quality, cost efficiency, and regulatory alignment.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • 10+ years of experience in security operations, data platforms, or analytics support, with significant leadership experience in enterprise environments.

  • Proven experience managing global offshore delivery teams and third-party vendors under formal SLA and MTTR commitments.

  • Strong understanding of incident, problem, change, and release management within regulated financial or security-critical environments.

  • Experience serving as an IT Custodian or equivalent role, including audit support, risk management, attestations, and vulnerability remediation.

  • Solid working knowledge of large-scale data and analytics platforms (e.g., Cloudera, Snowflake, Spark) and cloud environments (AWS).

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to lead through incidents, audits, and executive-level reviews.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience supporting security analytics, SIEM, or large-scale security data platforms.

  • Familiarity with orchestration and monitoring tools such as Airflow, NiFi, and Grafana.

  • Background in disaster recovery planning, execution, and resilience testing.

  • Experience in highly regulated financial services or global enterprise environments.

  • Exposure to automation, observability, or AI-driven operations initiatives.

What's in it for you?

We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper. We care about each other, reaching our potential, making a difference to our communities, and achieving success that is mutual.

  • A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses and flexible benefits, competitive compensation, commissions, and stock where applicable.

  • Leaders who support your development through coaching and managing opportunities.

  • Ability to make a difference and lasting impact.

  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team.

  • A world-class training program in financial services.
