Software Developer

Jump Recruitment, on behalf of our client, ClearRisk, are seeking a skilled and curious Software Developer to join their team in St. John's, NL. ClearRisk builds software that helps organizations reduce risk and make better decisions. Job Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy new features in collaboration with product and engineering leadership
• Maintain and enhance existing systems with a focus on performance, scalability, and security
• Build and integrate APIs and services connecting internal and external systems
• Contribute to database design and data modeling
• Leverage AI development tools to assist with coding, testing, and documentation
• Collaborate on the design and integration of AI capabilities within ClearRisk's platform
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and work effectively within a Scrum team
• Review code, share feedback, and help strengthen our development practices
• Stay current with new technologies and contribute ideas that move our platform forward
• Write clear documentation that supports maintainability and knowledge sharing

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong skills in one or more programming languages - Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, etc.
• Previous Salesforce development experience is highly desirable
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), particularly with Lambda, API Gateway, and ECS are an asset
• Experience with front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Lightning Web Components) and/or back-end frameworks (Node.js, Express.js, Spring Boot, etc.) would be a plus
• Understanding of API design and microservice architectures
• Knowledge of Git workflows, Jira, and CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot)
• Interest or experience in AI or data-driven features within SaaS platforms
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
• A growth mindset and enthusiasm for learning new technologies
