Family Educator

Job Title: Family Educator

Role Summary:
The Family Educator supports families through in-home and group-based services that strengthen parental well-being, build parenting confidence, and promote stable home environments-key foundations for healthy child development and long-term success.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or a related field
• Minimum five years' experience working with vulnerable families
• Knowledge of early childhood development and family systems
• Group facilitation experience an asset

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Non-judgmental, culturally responsive, and professional approach
• Resilient, adaptable, and effective with diverse populations

Requirements:

• Criminal background and Social Development clearances
• First Aid and CPR certification
• Reliable transportation
• Understanding of mental health and substance use issues
• Commitment to confidentiality and accurate documentation
• Ability to interpret and utilize program documentation and reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build supportive relationships with families through individualized service planning
• Support parents in setting and achieving meaningful goals
• Conduct developmental and needs assessments
• Provide parenting education, guidance, and referrals
• Promote program awareness and collaborate with community partners
• Participate in team meetings, program development, and community events
