We are searching for a Manager, Accounts Payable to join our Finance Team based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

About the Opportunity
- Responsible for providing proactive oversight and leadership for all aspects of the procure-to-pay cycle, ensuring processes and outcomes are consistently aligned with the organization's goals, strategic initiatives, and compliance requirements.
- Monitors and continuously improves internal controls, policies, and procedures, while fostering collaboration across departments to achieve timely, accurate, and efficient payment processing.
- Plays a key part in identifying opportunities for automation, standardization, and process optimization, and is accountable for supporting team development and delivering measurable results in accounts payable operations.
- Collaborates closely with operational leads, regional Finance Partners, and the Procurement Manager to execute vendor relationships and payable strategies that drive process optimization and desired outcomes.
- Ensures strict payment terms are adhered by paying suppliers on time to ensure our strong positive relationship with our operational teams and suppliers (brand) is maintained/ strengthened.
- Supports the adoption of automation opportunities and integrating advanced technologies tools to deliver continuous improvement, cost savings, and scalability.
- Provides leadership and guidance to a centralized team—including the Accounts Payable Analysts, Coordinators, and Clerks—who manage daily payable processing for Shannex and its related operating companies.
- Establishes and refines AP policies, supports the development of standardized automation protocols, and ensuring strict compliance with key internal controls.
- Utilizes key performance indicators (KPIs) and industry benchmarks to monitor payment process effectiveness, deliver data-driven insights to leadership, and support informed operational decision-making.
- Regularly reviews end-to-end AP operations, recommends improvements, and ensures processes remain aligned with evolving business needs and technological advancements.
- Adheres to the corporate financial reporting timelines and quality assurance standards for financial accounting as presented by the Corporate Controller
About You
In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Commerce.
- Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) considered an asset
- CPA designation considered an asset
- At minimum, 5+ years supervisory experience
- Experience leading procure to pay process automation initiatives
- Experience in data driven management of procure to pay cycles and use of dashboards and exception reporting
- A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care.
