Opportunity
Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services is seeking a visionary leader for the role of Vice President (VP) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) ? Labrador-Grenfell Zone. This executive will be responsible for implementing and managing services within the Labrador-Grenfell Zone and will also provide leadership to select provincial health systems across all zones.

The Role
Reporting to the President and CEO, the VP COO is a key member of the Executive Management Committee and Senior Leadership Team. The VP COO implements and manages health services within the Labrador-Grenfell Zone, maintaining continuity of operations and service delivery. At the same time, the VP COO guides a number of provincial health systems, ensuring consistency and best practices across all zones. The VP COO assesses the organizational structure as required to ensure care is delivered appropriately within the zone.

Key Responsibilities
- Implementing and managing health services within the Labrador-Grenfell Zone, including evaluating and adjusting zone structure as needed to deliver the best possible care.
- Overseeing the delivery of acute care, community care, and long-term care, as well as managing support services within facilities in the zone.
- Supporting Regional Health Councils and engaging with local health system and community stakeholders.
- Building respectful, collaborative relationships with Indigenous Peoples and other equity-deserving communities to advance health equity, cultural safety, and reconciliation.
- Managing health data responsibly and ensuring that Indigenous sovereignty informs clinical decision and protects client safety
- Driving the success of local Collaborative Team Networks and improving community-based primary health care.
- Championing local opportunities for improvement and leading program development and system transformation.
- Creating and fostering a healthy workplace culture that attracts, develops, retains, and motivates staff.
- Providing leadership to select provincial health systems and collaborating with other senior leaders to advance the mandate of Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services.
- Developing policies and standard operating procedures within select provincial areas, ensuring consistency and best practices across all zones.

Location
Candidates must reside in the Labrador-Grenfell Zone, preferably in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of senior leadership experience in health service delivery, with a strong track record of operational performance, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement. A master?s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. The candidate must demonstrate leadership ability, high ethical standards, and a commitment to the LEADS Framework.
