The Chapman Group is happy to be assisting MAWIW Council Inc. in finding its next Indigenous Early Intervention Coordinator. Mawiw Council is a First Nation tribal organization whose primary purpose is to improve the overall well-being of NB's three largest rural First Nation communities (Elsipogtog, Negotkuk, Esgenoopetitj) based on unceded Wabanaki territory. MAWIW's initiatives and projects range from but not limited to: Health, Community Capacity Building, Employment and Training, Economic Development, and Service Delivery.

Position Overview

The Indigenous Early Intervention and Community Mapping Coordinator works with ECEs, Elders, families, and community leaders to map early intervention and prevention supports. This role strengthens community systems, identifies service gaps, and supports culturally grounded assessment practices.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Map community programs and resources.
  • Document referral pathways and service access.
  • Identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support culturally respectful assessment processes.
  • Coordinate with families and service providers.
  • Provide logistical and administrative assistance.
  • Support resource staff in understanding early intervention pathways.
  • Provide tools and culturally aligned materials.
  • Assist communities in developing resources and guides.
  • Build strong community relationships and engage Elders and families.
  • Support sovereignty, autonomy, and cultural safety in partnerships.
  • Prepare community-specific summaries, maps, and reports.
  • Track service system trends and outcomes.
  • Contribute to regional planning.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma/degree related to ECE, Indigenous Studies, Child Development, or relevant experience.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities.
  • Strong understanding of Indigenous child development.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to all 15 communities as required.
  • Must understand Microsoft Office Software - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Mail
  • Criminal Record check/Vulnerable record check
  • Must have a Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
  • Alignment with Indigenous values and practices.
Work With Us

Working Conditions

  • Office and community site visits, including land-based settings.
  • Travel throughout all First Nation communities in NB.
  • Occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
