The Department of Health is seeking individuals to fill current and future, temporary and permanent Financial Analyst opportunities within the Financial Services Branch in Fredericton.

As a Financial Officer you will be responsible for:

  • Perform month-end activities, including accruals, journal entries and financial forecasting;
  • Provide monthly and quarterly reports to senior managers;
  • Review, prepare and evaluate program budgets;
  • Prepare various types of analysis such as comparison of budget and actual, trend analysis and other ad-hoc reports;
  • Provide year-end reconciliations;
  • Assist in the preparation of public accounts and annual reports;
  • Provide advice on the financial impact of decisions;
  • Participate in meetings and provincial committees where costing is required;
  • Work on projects as required.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Pay Band 3 - University degree in Business Administration or a related discipline and a minimum of one (1) year of related experience.
  • Pay Band 4 - University degree in Business Administration or a related discipline and a minimum of three (3) years of related experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Some positions require written and spoken competence in French and English. Others will require written and spoken competence in English only. Please state your language capability on your application.

In the event that this competition poses difficulties in recruiting a qualified candidate, a covering off appointment at a lower level may be made. In that case, candidates with less than the required related years of experience may also be considered.

Salary:

  • Pay Band 3 - $53,222 to $74,360 per annum
  • Pay Band 4 - $58,474 to $81,770 per annum
