The Mactaquac Generating Station began generating electricity in 1968. Since the 1980s, concrete portions of the hydro station have been affected by a chemical reaction called alkali-aggregate reaction. The reaction causes the concrete to swell and crack and has required substantial annual maintenance and repairs. NB Power is proposing a project to ensure the station can operate to its intended 100-year lifespan with a modified approach to maintenance and adjusting and replacing equipment and concrete overtime.
As part of the Mactaquac Life Achievement Project, the role Project Performance Reporting Specialist (Business Analyst) is responsible for collecting, tracking, and analyzing project information and performance data ; developing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs); creating Power Apps and Power BI dashboards; preparing performance and status reports ; and providing support for project performance and review meetings.
Key functions include:
- Responsible for gathering, analyzing, and reporting project performance information to support data-driven decision-making.
- Develop and maintain performance dashboards using Power BI to track key project metrics.
- Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including leading indicators, to assess project health and performance.
- Design and develop applications using Microsoft Power Apps to enhance project efficiency and reporting processes.
- Manage and maintain accurate and comprehensive project information and data systems.
- Prepare and maintain master project progress dashboards
Our ideal teammate will have:
- University degree in Business, Engineering (Management, Operations) or a Diploma in a related business or technical field (with an additional two years of experience).
- Five years of progressively responsible experience supporting capital projects or operations within multi-functional project teams.
- Experience in cost control, forecasting, scheduling, progress tracking, earned value, and risk management for large programs or projects.
- Experience in developing and maintaining information management solutions using Microsoft Power Apps, SharePoint, and database tools for data integration and reporting.
- Proficient in Power BI, Excel, and SAP for business analytics, financial tracking, and project performance reporting.
- Working knowledge of Primavera (P6) for schedule tracking and analysis.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) designation or working towards designation will be considered as an asset
An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
