You'll be part of our 24/7 supported living program team, helping adults successfully maintain
housing. Your job is to support our clients in maintaining safe and healthy living environments
for themselves and their neighbours. In this role, you will:
- Create a safe and welcoming environment
- Facilitate meaningful daily activities
- Connect individuals with appropriate community supports
- Daily personal and apartment wellbeing checks
- Engage in verbal crisis intervention and deescalation
- Keep clear records of your work and follow Open Arms' policies
- Promote dignity, respect, and accountability in the supported living program
- Engage in daily tasks including client engagement, programming, and cleaning
- Has understanding or experience working with vulnerable populations
- Studied Social Services, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field, an asset
- Is empathetic, resourceful, and calm under pressure
- Strong interpersonal and soft skills to communicate effectively with various clientele
- Wants to build a long-term career in community work or social services
- Is ready to learn and grow in a fast-paced, people-focused role
We are hiring for Day and Night positions. In the application process, you will be asked which position you want to apply for.
- The rate of pay is $21 - $23/hour, commensurate with experience.
- A $2/hour premium is offered for all night shifts. Night shifts are scheduled from either 11pm-7am or 12am-8am.
- You will receive 3 weeks of paid vacation per year.
- After 3 months, you can join the group health benefit plan, with 50% of the premium paid by Open Arms.
- You will be part of a supportive team, with regular team meetings, collaborative work, and opportunities for professional development and training.
