CLINICAL PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR (BAND LEVEL 8)

DUTIES
Reporting to the Associate Dean Undergraduate Programs, in the Faculty of Nursing, the position provides support to the programs and activities in assessing, monitoring and reviewing non-academic student requirements, and may include assisting with clinical placements. Duties include interpreting clinical placement requirements within the curricula; confirming pre-clinical requirements align with the requirements articulated in health authority affiliation agreements and with the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Collaborative) Program curricula; providing advice to and following up with students as necessary; overseeing, monitoring, and updating pre-placement records in HSPnet (Health Sciences Placement Network), including immunizations, CPR status, First Aid certification, certificates of conduct, PHIA requirements, mask-fit testing, etc.; liaising with Student Health Services and other health care professionals as required to arrange immunizations and follow-up; collaborating with faculty members on pre-placement requirement issues such as student non-compliance; using HSPnet to support clinical placement processes in relation to pre-clinical requirements and acting as privacy advisor in completing HSPnet forms and student information; assisting with the management of the sign-out, sign-in, and secure storage of clinical ID cards; providing support with reviewing clinical practice appraisal packages to ensure completion of all forms; ensuring incident forms are directed to Associate Dean, entering clinical hours into HSPnet, and running placement histories at program end; assisting with undergraduate program initiatives related to student attainment and maintenance of pre-clinical requirements; building and maintaining strong working relationships; assisting in informing students and obtaining, collating and presenting data related to scholarships, awards and bursaries; assisting with awards events; managing the protection, collection, storage and retention of personal and personal health information; and performing other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (3-5 years) in a health care setting, preferably in community health, especially with immunization programs; graduation with an undergraduate degree from a four-year college or university is required; or an equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. A Bachelor of Nursing degree with a current practicing RN or PN license is preferred. Knowledge of immunization programs, Microsoft Office, and strong organizational, computer, oral, and written communication skills are essential. Experience in an academic environment and knowledge of Student Banner, HSPnet (Health Sciences Placement Network) and Brightspace would be considered assets.
SALARY $65,079 - $76,340 per annum (CUPE Local 1615)
