The Role
We're on the hunt for a dynamic Executive Director who can wear multiple hats-visionary, relationship-builder, fundraiser, advocate, and occasionally, chief cheerleader. If you thrive in small organizations where your ideas take flight, this is for you.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the foundation's strategy, operations, and community impact initiatives
- Build relationships with donors, community leaders, and partner organizations
- Champion fundraising and donor stewardship (yes, you'll get to tell great stories)
- Oversee grants, budgets, reporting, and governance
- Inspire and collaborate with staff, volunteers, and the Board
- Spot opportunities to grow resources, reputation, and impact
What You Bring (besides charm):
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofits, foundations, philanthropy, or community development
- Proven success in fundraising, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building
- Experience working with or supporting a Board of Directors
- Strong financial management skills (you're no stranger to budgets and balance sheets)
- A talent for turning big ideas into practical action
- A sense of humour and flexibility-because community work is equal parts joy and surprise
Bonus Points For:
- Experience in rural or small community settings
- Knowledge of Canadian charitable regulations and granting
- Comfort with public speaking (not mandatory, but microphones will happen)
- CFRE designation
What We Offer:
- A meaningful leadership role where your work creates real local impact
- A collaborative, supportive Board and team
- Flexibility, autonomy, and room to grow the organization
- Competitive compensation (aligned with a small-but-mighty foundation)
