Job Description
What is the opportunity?
Join our U.S. IMBD team as a strategic partner driving excellence across RBC. Reporting to the Director of the COO Office, you'll partner directly with our Chief Compliance Officers to execute high-impact strategic initiatives that shape how we operate and serve our business. This is a pivotal role where your strategic thinking, analytical rigor, and ability to orchestrate complex initiatives will directly influence enterprise-wide compliance programs and operational efficiency.
We are seeking a highly motivated, self-directed, results-oriented professional who can partner effectively with senior leadership, manage multiple competing priorities, and deliver tangible outcomes. You'll play a central role in ensuring efficient operations, strategic planning, and sustainable growth of the US IMBD Compliance Department while gaining visibility and influence across the organization.
What will you do?
Strategic Planning & Execution
- You'll work closely with the COO and CCOs to develop and execute strategic plans that align regulatory programs across business segments and advance the overall vision of the US IMBD Compliance Department.
- You'll conduct analyses to identify trends, emerging opportunities, and areas for program enhancement, while driving innovation through new technologies and processes that improve operational efficiency.
- Your insights will directly influence how we approach regulatory challenges and capitalize on operational improvements.
- You'll also engage in financial forecasting, modeling, and business development activities, and prepare senior management materials for Executive Committee meetings and business line presentations.
Strategic Enablement & Cross-Functional Leadership
- You'll be the trusted orchestrator ensuring strategic priorities are executed flawlessly across the enterprise. This includes leading continuous process improvement initiatives, implementing best practices, and facilitating collaboration across functional partners including (but not limited to) Finance, Human Resources, Technology, and Corporate Real Estate.
- You'll provide critical support to the CCO and Operating Committees—coordinating meetings, preparing briefing materials, prioritizing strategic topics, and tracking progress to ensure timely completion. You'll also foster effective communication and collaboration among departments to drive efficiency and productivity, and support various strategic projects and ad-hoc initiatives as they arise.
Data Analysis, Insights & Reporting
- You'll lead quantitative and technical analyses to drive evidence-based decision-making, mentoring team members along the way.
- You'll develop and execute strategies to identify opportunities for program enhancements, and continually assess and refine our operating model to align with business and regulatory objectives.
- You'll establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to regulatory initiatives and team performance, providing regular progress reports and executive presentations to support strategic decision-making.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in a financial institution, management consulting firm, or another highly regulated industry, with a demonstrated track record of delivering analytical work and managing complex projects and strategic initiatives

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Exceptional organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
