The Financial and Consumer Services Commission of New Brunswick (Commission) is a leader in integrated financial and consumer services regulation. The Commission's mandate is to protect consumers and enhance public confidence in the financial and consumer marketplace through the provision of regulatory and educational services. With offices in both Fredericton and Saint John, it is responsible for the administration and enforcement of provincial legislation regulating mortgage brokers, payday lenders, real estate, securities, insurance, pensions, credit unions, loan and trust companies, cooperatives, unclaimed property, and a wide range of consumer legislation. The Commission is a self funded Crown corporation.

Social Media Specialist - Communications and Public Affairs Division (Saint John or Fredericton Office)
Are you a creative storyteller, a strategic thinker, and a natural community builder? We're looking for a Social Media Specialist to develop engaging social media content and campaigns supporting our corporate, regulatory and consumer communication and education needs. As our Social Media Specialist you'll collaborate closely with our Communications and Public Affairs team, turning project plans into compelling social media strategies that educate, inform, and connect with diverse audiences. You will also monitor, analyze and report on performance across the Commission's social media platforms. If you love blending creativity with analytics to make an impact, this is the role for you.
Your Focus
- Social Media Content Planning, Development & Implementation: You will create and publish bilingual, brand-aligned content across all platforms while managing a content calendar and maintaining a library of evergreen posts.
- Social Media Campaign Coordination, Development & Implementation: You will plan and execute social media campaign content with the Communications and Public Affairs team, coordinate with external agencies to meet timelines and budgets, and apply platform best practices to guide campaign strategy.
- Performance Tracking & Reporting: You will monitor and analyze social performance, adjust tactics based on insights, and prepare clear reports with recommendations for future initiatives.
- Community Engagement: You will monitor social channels daily, respond to comments and inquiries, and use social listening to identify emerging issues or opportunities.
- Other Responsibilities: You will stay current on social media trends, recommend new opportunities, and represent the organization at events or on committees as needed.
What you bring
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, digital media or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience developing content and executing campaigns for social media, preferably within a government or regulatory environment
- Excellent working knowledge of the mechanics, best practices and features of major social media platforms and ability to quickly adapt to platform changes
- Experience with professional social media management and scheduling tools
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic photo editing, simple graphic design tasks, and basic video development using Canva and other basic tools
- Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting data from native social media analytics and/or third-party tools
- Exceptional copywriting and editing skills
- Exceptional professional judgement and capacity to consistently choose the appropriate tone, language, and content to uphold the Commission's reputation, and public trust
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Comprehension of both official languages is required
Additional Strengths
- Written and verbal proficiency in both official languages is an asset.
- Familiarity with financial and consumer services is an asset.
The Financial and Consumer Services Commission offers a competitive salary and benefit package as well as excellent opportunities for personal growth and challenge.
