SCHEDULE: Day, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Regional Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Manager, the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Officer is responsible for the management, updating and integrity of the electronic medical record system. They ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of medical information, while providing technical and administrative support to health care professionals in the use of the EMR system.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Two years of post-secondary education in a secretarial, health care, computer or related field;
• At least two years' experience in electronic medical record management;
• Practical knowledge of Microsoft tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) – intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel considered an asset;
• Knowledge of standards and regulations governing the confidentiality of medical data;
• Ability to train and support EMR users;
• Organizational skills, diligence and attention to detail;
• Good communication skills and team spirit;
• Excellent skills in serving a diverse patient base;
• Leadership skills;
• Ability to manage workload and handle multiple priorities;
• Discretion and sense of responsibility;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Physical ability to perform assigned work;
• Good work history (performance and attendance);
