The Manager, Global TPRM Independent Risk Oversight supports the Senior Manager, Global TPRM Independent Risk Oversight by contributing to the overall success of the Third-Party Risk Management globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. The incumbent is accountable for ensuring all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

• Supports the Senior Manager, Global TPRM Independent Risk Oversight in executing the Independent Risk Oversight (IRO) program in alignment with the Global TPRM IRO Methodology and Operating Standards

• Applies strong working knowledge on third party risk assessment process, ensuring alignment with the Global TPRM Policy, Operating Procedures and Scope

• Provides guidance and direction to Control Functions on enhancing their risk assessment processes, implementing system updates and maintaining procedural consistency

• Assists in identifying and escalating risk and control gaps to business owners, TPRM 2nd line, control functions and senior leadership, ensuring timely visibility and resolution

• Assist in delivering regular reporting on testing results and overall program outcomes to key stakeholders and upper management, offering meaningful insights and analysis of root cause drivers

• Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset, proactively identifying process challenges and pain points, raising them with urgency and following through to resolution with a risk-based approach

• Assist in identifying and updating the TPRM IRO testing program to improve the program in align with the Global TPRM Policies, Operating Standards and scope

• Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
• 3-5 years of risk management experience in financial service industry
• Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Finance. MBA or other Graduate Program in related discipline would be an asset
• Solid understanding of the regulatory landscape with respect to third party risk
• Strategic thinking and strategic influencing skills
• Knowledge of quality assurance and control testing processes
• Sound analytical, research and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and ability to effectively collaborate
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• The ability to develop strong working relationships with numerous cross functional support areas
• Fluency in Spanish is an asset
