PAL Airlines is currently expanding our finance team, and we are looking for a Finance Manager to join us in St. John's, NL!
Job Duties:
- Budgeting, tracking, and analysis to support the coordination of all business-related decisions and activities.
- Manage and assist in the creation of divisional budgets.
- Prepare weekly/monthly reporting, including variance analysis to annual budget and forecasts for management.
- Review of divisional statements to ensure accuracy of the results.
- Support the completion of consolidated statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) by completing various support files following the completion of all divisional statements.
- Review of budget with divisional managers to gain understanding of gaps between budget and expectations and compile key inputs for budgets and forecasts.
- Input adjustments into forecast file and describe variance drivers for forecast vs budget variances.
- Monthly and quarterly completion of MD&A and Board Reports detailing divisional and consolidated financial results compared to budget/forecast.
- Assisting with the budget write up process.
- Liaison with divisional managers to provide them an understanding in how their operations are performing financially (revenues, expenses, income) as it relates to budget
- Providing divisional managers and executives variance analysis. both via writing and verbal communication via feedback meetings scheduled regularly.
- Support the development of various business plans and proposals for business expansion from a financial perspective.
- Assist with the approvals of purchase orders as required.
- Preparation of financial models for proposals.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Graduate from a University program with a Bachelor's degree.
- Completion of a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Must be knowledgeable of financial concepts and preparation of variance analysis.
- Experience with project accounting and reporting for medium to large scale projects.
- Microsoft Office suite with strong working knowledge of Excel.
- Demonstrated flexibility and able to adapt in a dynamic environment.
- Strong commitment to meeting deadlines and effective time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Superior analytical, leadership, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Must have an inquiring mindset with a focus on understanding business and working as a member of a diverse team.
