What you will be doing…
- You will provide technical assistance for projects led by the Research Scientists. This involves assisting with day-to-day operations of a project to meet the research objectives and commitments with collaborating partners and funding agencies.
- On a daily basis, you may be working on one or more research projects. This position may conduct fieldwork in support of data acquisition missions which may require both indoor and outside working environments.

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:
- A diploma, advanced diploma, or degree in a related field or discipline specific to the specific to the nature of the research. (natural resources, environmental science, biology, horticulture, and agriculture, plant physiology, or related field).
- You have a minimum of two years (full time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience in a research environment which includes fieldwork.
- Occupational experience that includes crop management, crop sampling, soil sampling, and nutrient analysis, as well as running pot to plot level field experiments would be considered an asset.
- Previous experience working with Balsam Fir or Christmas trees, specifically around conifer physiology, especially needle retention, senescence, or post-harvest handling would be considered an asset
- Knowledge of abiotic stress factors (e.g., drought, temperature) affecting needle retention
- Proficiency in data analysis and scientific writing
- You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, E-mail
- You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work
- Experience supporting/providing service to students and prospective students would be considered an asset.
